Need overdrive suggestions

Sign in to disble this ad
I need to nail a bass tone similar to what you can hear in those songs:

http://www.myspace.com/thestevehill

Old SVT cranked up kind of overdrive.

I also still need to be able to tame it down a bit if I need less.

Nobody has bass-drives in store around here so what else???

EBS Multidrive?
Voodoo lab?

Anything else?

Budget is 250$

Forward thanks!

Fulltone Bass Drive gives me a very wide range of overdrive from Motorhead to Jack Bruce.

Maybe Sansamp vt? It was designed to sound like SVT, and I heard that there's some decent overdrive coming outta it

Is it a problem of trying it out before you buy?

visual sound jekyll and hyde. for dirty rock sounds, i keep the jekyll channel on with the drive all the way down. has so much more character than anything ive ever tried.

Not only that, I need it for the 24th so the stores wouldn't be able to order some in time.

As for ordering online, for whatever reason, noone in the states ships to Quebec. All the rest of Canada is ok but not Quebec. So this is not an option either.

Shame about the Fulltone, I was going to +1 it. For a get-anywhere type pedal how about a Big Muff? Not the best but plenty popular and as far as I know available in most music chains.

I got a big muff. But it's a distortion, not an overdrive and it's too compressed to my taste.

After much research, found one of these at a store 45 minutes away from here.

The beautiful thing is I have a gig tomorrow in that same town lol so will drop by before soundcheck and see what this thing is about.

Thanks for the suggestion.
