Need Pedal Advice

Sign in to disble this ad
I REALLY like to keep things simple, but I think I need a pedal and DEFINITELY need help picking one. Here's the deal: I am playing in a three-piece band. When it comes time for guitar solos, the sound isn't as big as I want. So... I am looking for a pedal that will "fill" more when the guitar player goes to lead. I bought a "chorus", but that didn't do it. Local CLl has a Bass Big Muff Pi pedal... would that do it? Slight overdrive, volume boost? How do others solve this problem? Thanks, in advance.

Fuzz or an OD pedal depending on your set up. Definately better fuzz pedals put there, but a BBM Pi could do the trick. It doesn't hurt to try a pedal out.

The BBM might be a good starting place but it will never end there. I use several solutions fuzz octaver, pitch shifter in combination with modulation efx, sometimes just step up to fill the space with my playing or do something chordal.
Not being able do the same thing twice keeps thing not simple.

Fishman fission. It makes a power chord along with your bass sound so it sounds as if theres a second guitar.

The FEA Growler might also provide that extra filling you seek.

An EQ pedal, the unheralded and unsexy effect that can do so much to your tone.
