Need some advice from the pedal gods

Sign in to disble this ad
ok, I am looking for TWO more pedals to complete my board. Problem is, I can't make up my mind!

The pedals I have been tossing around in my head are as follows:
Crowther hotcake
Analogman chorus
EHX micro synth
Catalinbread V8 or hyperpak.
and Maxon FL-9

My problem with a chorus or flanger is that... well, the ones I have tried never have enough headroom for my basses (LEJ, Benavente). I have supplied a very poor picture, which is lacking my recent purchase (heliotrope and semaphore)

PLEASE !!!!!

If headroom is a problem, try a pedal that takes more than 9v, like an old 18v Danelectro Cool Cat. Pedals running at higher voltage isn't guaranteed to increase headroom, but it worked for my Diamond Compressor!

I know the Analogman chorus supposedly thrives at 16v, which should give you plenty of headroom.

I love my EHX Stereo Polychorus, which is a Chorus, Flanger, Double track, and Filter Matrix (manually set fixed position). 24v. It's huge, but I use the filter matrix, chorus and flanger, and it's quite versitile. Controls are: Width, Rate, Tune/Delay, Feedback, and sweep filter switch. It responds very well to my active jazz, and hotter passive P.

Get the analogman chorus with deep mode and power it at 18v (it's what I do to handle my Bongo). thick!!!

and I second the Micro Synth as well

As stated above, the Analogman can operate up to 18v (I just e-mailed AnalogMike about this) and that should take care of the headroom issue.
