Need some help and suggestion on tone

I've just mod my P-bass to have a set of delano p pickup on the neck and a set of delano MM pickup on the bridge. Also change a set of strings to LaBella Flats.

The bass sounded fantastic in the shop when i tested on the Marks Bass amp (i know they are good but they are expensive). Even the guy in the shop says the bass is fantastic now.

Here are the problem. I plug the bass on my amp at home which is a Ashdown Electric Blue 180, I like the amp alot specially when using my G&L Tribute L2500. But my new mod bass sound abit too trebly when using my own bass amp. even the bass set to full and tone knob turn all the way down etc.

Was wondering are their any EQ, pedal, stomp box will give me the extra bass tone i looking for without going too trebly.

I own a Behringer bass EQ pedal which is not too good and didn't help much. I was thinking about getting the boss Bass EQ pedal and the Limited Enhance together to balance things out. Was wondering do the boss EQ will be much better sound quality than the Behringer one? or it will be pretty similar?

Or any other pedal or stomp box will be better?

There are lots and lots of tone-shaping pedals out there, at every price point. I do believe Boss and MXR EQ's will sound a little bit better than Behringer. That said, I don't understand how a P bass with LaBella flats and the tone knob rolled back could ever sound trebley, unless there was something else in the chain that was sucking lows. Are you just running the bass straight into the amp, into the passive input?

Have you tried running everything flat? That's usually a good starting place -- put everything on the bass and amp at noon.

If you're not getting a good basic tone through your amp, a pedal usually won't make it much better.

I've just try that, it sounded alright but the E string seems to be abit trebly compare to the other strings on the bass.

Was thinking using the boss EQ to cut treble and boost abit on the bass?

I agree. I can't see a Pbass with flats being described as trebley in most circumstances.

The only suggestions I have is to let the strings break in (even flats can be bright when new) and to favor the neck pickup more.

just did some testing on the strings and the sound for all 4 strings.

The A, D and G string sounded right and just just the tone i looking for. But is the E string that have the problem. No matter how i set the amp etc the E string is always sounded like it is complete flat from the EQ. No matter how i change the bass or mid on the amp or the tone from the bass, it sounded pretty much the same with any setting. I might have to take it to the guitar tech to check it out.
