NEED SUM HELP!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Welp my main goal is to run the bass sounds from my MIDI controller through my bass cab, as well as my bass sounds from my actual bass. I bought an aby splitter to do this, but although when i switch from A to B it works, but when i want A and B inputs to be playing at the same time, you can barley hear my bass, and only hear MIDI. I have it setup as my output from my laptops headphone jack into the B input, and my effects and bass into the A input. Of course the one output goes to my bass head input. Could someone please help me solve this dilemma?

You need a small active mixer. An ABY box is not good for this, neither is a Y cord, nor a passive mixer. The two inputs on an amp are usually not separate inputs into a mixer-like circuit, but rather just two passively-connected jacks, one of them with a resistor to pad down the input level. So they are not suitable for plugging two instruments into your amp (in most cases).

Small active mixer.
