I have heard amazing things in the bass world as far as the Tech 21 sansamp bass driver and the RBI, I know and understand that the RBI is a preamp, what I don't know is if I can run it into my Hartke 5500 bass amp. I love the sound of the amp but I would like a rack mount overdrive, Is it possible to run the Sansamp to the Preamp of my Hartke?

Yes, but you might need to lower the input gain on the Hartke, to avoid clipping your Harke's preamp. You could also bypass the Hartke's pre, and go straight to the poweramp in. But, if it's just overdrive you want, a pedal might be the better strategy.
