Neo Mistress

I've been checking this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlWcZFA9KEM and looks like first settings that he uses is exactly what I need. This flying space-like sound. At this point I use old BF-2, but the switch is broken, so I'm looking to replace the pedal. Does anyone know if neo mistress is good for bass? or any other pedal that would do this type of flanging? Thanks!

Sounds pretty cool. I'll bet that pedal would sound cool on bass like the mxr micro chorus.

Pretty good flanger, IMO. One way of helping a for-guitar-player pedal to sound great on bass (i.e. to keep the tone's low end intact), is to blend it with the bass's uneffected tone. That can be done with a pedal such as the Boss LS-2, but there are a lot of other options as well. I loop a couple on enveloppe filters though mine, works pretty well for me.

I've got a Stereo Electric Mistress and it works well with bass. Doesn't eat all my lows, even when I'm not blending in some clean sound. Chances are the Neo Mistress will be just as good.

I have had a Stereo Electric Mistress for 3 years and hear no loss of low-end or volume. Many people claim to hear low-end loss in chorus/flanger pedals, when there is no real circuit-based reason why the lows would be cut. I can only assume that they just don't like the sound of their low fundamental note being modulated, and interpret that as some sort of low-end loss.

there can be a perceived drop in volume too, with corresponding de-emphasis of low end. I DO prefer modulation effects with frequency control, and there may be some flangers out there that roll off low end so guitarists can avoid "muddiness" but I don't think this is one of them. I still prefer EHX's analog flangers though
