I really like those natural, acoustic tones you are achieving.

Sweet stuff. I totally agree with the 'effects as modular synthesis' approach.

John it looks like you're using super-skinny strings, are you still using standard bass tuning or is that Jazz tuned A-D-G-C for tracking purposes?

Have to say Jojo is looking ****ing broken in some of those clips. I hope he was interviewed after sleepless nights and that's not just the result of his pursuit of the Euro club scene.

Jojo had a really bad sinus infection during the session, and had to take some pretty heavy antibiotics... I got really sick right after that session. Made it through and then crashed!

As far as strings, they are TI Jazz Flats, so they are rather thin, but standard tuning. Alternate tunings hurt my brain.

I signed up for an electronic music/live music/dance/video ensemble/class at my college for the fall, and you guys, squarepusher, and hypno5e are a lot of the reason I'm doing it. I heard about the class, and the first thing I thought of was Nerve, actually.

So... cool stuff, is what it boils down to lol.

you get that too, eh?

love your keyboard player, btw. when he hits that one note and gets that maniacal look in the eye...you can tell he loves that one note like it's his child.

Hey John is the MIDI-sync just a studio thing, or will you be taking that approach live at the new shows?

Midi Sync-ing is just a studio thing... since our shows are about 95% improvised, using a click or any sort of midi sync would interfere with our musical freedom... tap tempo is usually close enough for live stuff.

Jimmy, yeah, Tak is awesome... he's hilarious sometimes. Great dude, and can create some pretty spectacular textures and moods.

Gonna put a track or two on myspace today as a sneak preview.

John
