There is a new fuzz that sounds bad ass on bass from 3Xfx. It is the V1 Buzz Bomb. Here are some bass clips:

Bass clip 1
Bass clip 2

There is a video too:

There are more guitar clips and stuff on http://www.3xfx.com

I was just watching that video on YouTube, too. At first I thought it was awesome. But then after carefully listening to it a second time, I determined that I wouldn't have much use for it.

I personally enjoy the octave down bass fuzz sound. It is freaking thick and awesome sound fuzz!

Interesting fuzz. On the video he turned of the filter thing...kinda annoying with the ringing going on.

At first I thought: No way would a pedal sound like a mangled cow.

After seeing the vid: It sounds like a cow being mangled. At least in parts. Others just sound like bad flatulence.

that frequency knob is a cool idea except it goes a bit too high--the squealing is a turnoff, but once he lowered the range it sounded cool.
If I got one, I would mod it to put a switch on the frequency knob so you could switch to an expression pedal to change the frequency. and if it's a pedal that needs mod'ing, i couldn't justify spending over 60 bucks for the pedal.
Thats been a pet-peeve of mine with pedals that have a variety of usable tones--an inability to switch them on the fly--an expression pedal would be cool and also a stomp switch to engage the stutter effect.

The sound this box is generating sounds similar to a Freqbox in sync mode

you are wrong. this is not a crash sync or a freqbox. just an original new design.

Nothing's original in stompbox design

the prototype was actually made with an expression pedal. the first toggle switch could be set for the knob, or the photocell/expression pedal. with an expression pedal plugged in the photocell is cut off. the expression pedal was a modified wah pedal and the stomp switch on the wah would engage the stutter effect, so this can definitely be done.

...

that was so wrong, my ears.....theres no expression...

did i just hear a combination of pained animal noises over a somewhat distorted bass signal?? I here the cow noises but did anyone else spot the bird having its foot sawed off noise?

And i think its an original LOOK, and i also think that's a very good thing....The case looks like it was constructed from old bits of shoe or used toilet paper

these days most of the "new" or "boutique" effects are clones or just total rip offs, which this is not.

wow, tough crowd.

the video doesn't do the pedal expression capabilities justice. here is another video that shows the pedal being used like a fuzz-wah. it is on guitar, but you get the idea.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tehgaGcLF4M

i like the idea of using the photocell because it gives you built in expression, without having a separate expression pedal. also, taking up less space on a pedalboard, but i'm sure i'm i'll be ripped a new one for even suggesting that (which i think is also a pretty original idea). the only other pedals i know of off hand with photocells are devi ever effects.

Ah, cool. Hello!

You need to read the Commercial User Policy that TB has, but once you've done that it should be easy to fit in. Good to have another pedal builder on board (HO HO!) here .
