New compression pedal?

Sign in to disble this ad
For the last year or so I have been using the compression effect that came with my amp (trace Elliot 715x). TO be honest I have never been too impressed with it. Its ok but its great... Now Im thinking of getting a pedal or a multi effects pedal that can help me gain really good compression as I am starting to use compression more and more.

Just wondered if anyone can give me any advice on what to try out?

Thanks
Tom

See bongomania's FAQ on compressors. He also reviews a boatload of them.

Personally, I don't know how he found the time or desire to do all this work, but we salute him.

Never played an amp compressor or pedal compressor that I liked for bass. Too noisy and/or squashy.

Try the Diamond - very quiet, not too squashy! Best run at 18v to increase headroom and prevent clipping.
