New Dano Pedal series

Sign in to disble this ad
If anyone has heard anything about the new Dano Cool Cat series of pedals(street dates, reviews, any other info), I would really like to know more than they show on their website. it looks like Dano is finally making pedals with a true bypass.

the sound clips on a lot of them sound great, but I really want to play one before buying any of them. Anyone know anything about a release date yet?

I really wish Danelectro would make more of the normal-sized pedals (like the REAL Cool Cat), but in other varieties (like a phaser, flanger, ring modulator and rotary speaker sim). The thing I always liked about Danelectro pedals was that they were built like a '57 Chevy, and these plastic things are kind of a letdown.

But this is good news, too, I suppose.

It looks almost like my old Pool Cue case. That one was Black leather with Gold plated trim, and Red fur lining. Sadly I lost that case in a 9 Ball tournament, otherwise I would buy the new pedal board and carry both whenever I played a show in a venue that has a pool table.

Hi all,

I am the new guy!

Just bought the "old" cool cat used today, 40 eur (that's cheap on this side of the pond), and the first thing I missed was a wet/dry, I guess I will have to check this new one out when it arrives.

Any other chorus one should give a few minutes?

Y'know, as snazzy as true bypass is, the full-sized pedals, which are not, don't screw with the sound that much when disengaged. Heck, they're better than even a higher-quality EHX BMS, which is giving me a headache right now.

Haven't heard of these but I used to own a Cool Cat chorus (metal case). It was the best chorus I ever heard. Was 18V, ate batteries for breakfast (use an adaptor) and was *dead* quiet. If they used the same circuit I would definitely recommend it.

Did see it on Frankfurt last week, though there was no way to test it, it looks neat, but I'll have to wait until my local dealer get's em to try it out, the "old" cat rox fine on my pedalboard right now and until...

Just to let you know, they did make a flanger like the original effects...it came out at the same time that the Sitar Swami and the Free Speech Talk Box. The Flanger was called the Psycho Flange. There's one on ebay right now.

Oh yeah, and it's now been 4 months since I first posted this, and the cool cat website still says nothing about a release date. Anyone have any info?

Well, soon after I posted that, I found out about the Psycho Flange. After a series of failed attempts, I won one on the eBay a few weeks later. And until last week, I couldn't get anything other than "this is very hollow; what in the hell am I doing" out of it. Last week, it was a lot more manageable, a bit more underwater, not quite Forty-Six and 2-ish, but...

The release date is supposedly early June. I know that people over on TGP have been receiving beta boxes for testing, and the results so far have been very positive.

+1. That was a great chorus, wish I still had mine. Also, the original Dan-Echo was as close to a real tape delay as any pedal I ever heard. And they were shaped like old cars, and painted in cool colors, pastel-like.

yeah, I know it's really strange to most people on here, but I'm a Danelectro junkie. Right now, I'm too broke to spend more than about $60 per pedal, so the price for dano pedals is right up my alley, plus I've been able to get great sounds out of every one of them that I've tried(all 11 that I currently own & the 3 I no longer own). I'm pretty much jonesing for these to come out because I'm probably going to buy at least 4 of them.

the price is definitely going to be very attractive, plus the cases are metal and they're true bypass. Basically they're what Dano lovers have been waiting for. The reviews I've read have been very positive...as in, "This $60 overdrive is going on my board next to my $200 overdrive".

I hope they didn't use the same layout on the back as the Fab Tone pedals. Those were a pain if you had right angled adapter plugs.

What, no faux-analog delay?

Or a real analog delay for that matter?
Any of you old Dano fans care to comment on the old Dan-echo?
