New Dunlop Bass Fuzz...

This little guy was on the board at BPL.

For all those who disliked the El Grande and Blowtorch, brace yourselves. They hit it out of the park with this one! The tone reminds me of a Tonebender, but with a separate clean volume and minus the exorbitant price tag.

I know I'm getting one. It sounded fabulous with the BEF...very vocal sound to it.

Did you get a chance to try it with the clean volume off? If so, how beefy/heavy is it? Some Tonebender-esque circuits can sound pretty crushing without any blend at all, and some others sound meh without the blend. I hate the sound of clean blend, so that's the money question for me.

It still brought the beef, sir. Its tone was quite similar to the Tonebender TC I used to have.
It's muffy with more of a midrange focus than that good old "Big Muff scoop".

Wonder how it will get along with a active bass.
Color me interested.

MXR has stepped up their game in recent years. The Octave and Envelope Filter are fab, as is the carbon Copy. If I weren't overloaded with compressors already, I'd have that one too. Now, this fuzz box. It's a good time to be a bass player.

And to add to the g.a.s. being generated, it may just be a typo but in the new BP mag it lists Troy Sanders of Mastodon as having an mxr bass chorus on his board at the moment.

Nice! I actually dig the blowtorch tone, at least on 12V! This looks interesting! Now we can only wait for another fancy useless MXR video of the pedal, but with some great musicianship no doubt, I'm guessing Bobby Vega.

I've been very pleased with their comp, filter, and octave. I'm gonna have get this. Any chance you've played a sublime? compare?

More midrange attack than the Sublime, not quite as "boomy" on the saturation. Two completely different beasts.

Tool fans are gonna love this one, btw.

I would just like for them to try a bass oriented overdrive pedal. They already have 3 fuzzes

Very generally speaking, I don't hear a whole lot of difference between the Tonebender and Fuzz Face, and don't think there's much difference there in circuit design either.

Have you messed around with the MXR-108 at all, and is this roughly in that same ballpark, I assume?

I've never had a chance to try one, unfortunately.
