Ok people. There are two more bass pedals in the pipeline. One of them is loosely based on DA Fuzz Face, so I intend to call her FaceDrive. My problem is with the other one. I just can not name the bass overdrive.
I am just mentioning the basic specs to help you visualize the pedal, not to advertise by all means. Please take this as a fellow musician trying to involve his favorite online community
It DOESN'T have a blend control But it has seperate clean booster preamp channel and overdrive channel with dedicated volume knobs, a more versatile way of blending signal and eliminates some common drawbacks of plain blends. Also you turn down clean channel, you have full blown overdrive and vice versa.
It is a medium gain overdrive by all means, addition to mentioned above it has tone and drive controls. Two modes are available. One of them has full body clean and overdrive channels with no attenuation. The other mode (my favorite) rolls of freq.s over 6.5khz in an inverse-exponential way of the clean channel and change the way how overdrive clips (soften a bit) as well as rolls of below 340hz in pretty much linear way. The resulting sound has less overlaps between clean and overdrive, somewhat mid heavy but still has the full body.
I put "Drive" to the end of all our overdrive/fuzz/distortion pedals, so the format should be ......Drive. It would be better if it has some meaning I mean SealDrive or PhukDrive are funny names, but this pedal is a really serious one

A) it has dual "drive" modes
and
B) it has the dual channels "clean" and "drive" w/dedicated volumes
EDIT: Another thought, based on the two seperate channel volume style "blending" : "Two Wheel Drive" or the "Be Quiet & Drive"

Whatever you call it, if the drive side is anything like my TS9DX in overdrive than I'll be getting one. I'd love to have the clean boost with the overdrive. Very nice. |
