I was looking at the Toadworks site and I noticed they had a new product, the Barracuda Analog Flanger. It has the standard controls (level, depth, regen, rate). Also, I found it very cool that there is an expression pedal out. This looks like it could be a very successful pedal. Here's a pic |

My Psilocybe has been pissing me off lately, I was going to replace it with something from Toadworks too... Yes I know the difference between phasers and flangers, but they fulfill similar needs for me.

Barracuda is designed for use with an Expression Pedal - Connecting the Expression Pedal to the Exp. Pedal jack will disable the LFO, and the expression pedal becomes a manual sweep controller.

What shortcomings have you found with it?
(Sorry for going off topic, now back on track....)
I wouldn't mind picking the Barracuda up and trying it out. Anyone find any samples with a bass?

Not the pedal's fault I suppose, maybe my dumbass just needs to crank the regen a bit more for certain parts.

The best phaser I've ever enjoyed on my bass that didn't disappear in a band setting was....
(i embarassed)...
The Behringer VP1 I know it sounds lame, but I AB'd it against a USA Small Stone in our band, and it beat the Stone by a landslide. Thicker, more defined on bass (on both color switches), and better cut-through. Only thing the SS won on was the construction. The Behringer WAS metal, but it was a cheap plastic knob and switch.
ON TOPIC:
Toadworks makes some sweet stuff, and I'd be excited to try this one out. It might finally make me a flanger fan I've never liked a full flange on bass.

"Hi Mark
It's going to be a couple months - our EE tore his Achilles tendon right
before NAMM, so he's been out of the office for a couple months. He's back
in the saddle now, and we're working on finishing it up.
MAP should be around $250...
Cheers

I can't wait to hear someone here to do clips of this one though. Looks very interesting, especially the manual sweep.
