Talking New Fuzz Day! (Bluebeard content!!!)

Sign in to disble this ad
You may remember my original post here. Well, it's finally arrived!

After much emailing, spending the entire summer away from the computer, moving, and finally more emailing, I got my Sanford and Sonny Bluebeard Fuzz in the mail yesterday!

I don't have much time to write a proper right now, but I'll leave all you fuzz lovers with this little tid-bit for now: be jealous!

This has everything I loved and nothing of what I hated out of my bass big muff pi. It's so smooth sounding, without any of the harsh brittleness that the BBMP seemed to have no matter where I set it. I couldn't have asked for it to sound better.

Anyway, more to come tomorrow, with pictures.

Ok, I forgot that I'm going to Bison BC and Shadows Fall tonight, then jamming tomorrow and Wednesday, so I won't be able to get much done between now and then. I'll record some clips at rehearsal on Wednesday though, and try and do a few different settings.

Funny, I find the BBM rather smooth-sounding. I've bought a musket with the intention of replacing it, and haven't been able to replicate the same smooth fuzz on the musket yet. I use the "sustain" on the BBM at about 11 o'clock and "tone" at 1 o'clock, btw.

Not massively high gain, some say it sounds too plain and boring, but then again you can't have searing lead fuzz all the time. Blend is nice to have but stupidly designed as you can't control the level of the clean signal which is always 100%, hence huge volume boost.
I tend to fully agree with this assessment.

There is the belt buckle fuzz
The tube bass combo in an ammo box
Idea has been scrapped
The idea was to do a the tube amp on the lid and then 2 aluminum 5" drivers would be in the main portion
But there is a company Victoria putting tube heads in ammo boxes so whah whah
BUT there is a better chassis idea and it will be R&D'd by Xmas
Other stuff is Tube this an tube that
The other "things" are backburnered because if someone else makes a better "x"
Then cool I don't have to compete I'll just buy one of theirs!!!
And a soon to be named celebrity (Hulk Hogan) endorsed super ultra mega overdrive
