New (to me) BMP green Russian

A co-worker pulled this out of a crawl-space in his basement and gave it to me. Apparently his son bought it years ago and no longer lives at home/wants it. Free is good!

It's in pretty good shape, although it could use a cleaning. The footswitch sticks a bit and it is missing the battery cover (which he thinks he'll still be able to find). Don't know yet if I"ll put this in with my black Russian or just keep it for posterity, but it's cool, that's for sure.

That's a great muff but its size was one of the reasons I had to let mine go. That thing oozes low end.

oh you lucky lucky bugger!!!

Ive got exactly the same pedal and i love it to bits. I had it rehoused into a more "pedalboard friendly" casing and changed the switch to a more traditional stomp switch- it still has the sound, but i kinda regret making these mods and as a result ive been searching the earth for another one of these or one of the modern day "copies". Can anyone suggest which of the modern day copies is closest to this guy? The "Musket" and Stomp under Foot "Civil War" pedals get a wrap, but i cant find any bass clips!!!

enjoy the pedal! (if you dont- lemme know!!!!)

There's a whole bunch of clips of the musket floating around the forum.

Same with the Grey 'Stache, the Supercollider, and a whole bunch of others.

WOW!! Congrats to the OP!!

I think if you email Matt at SUF he will make you a Green Russian for the same price as a Civil War.

I had both at the same time and It's really close between the two.... and both are really close to the Sovtek.....and all 3 are great for bass.

I love my rehoused modded Sovtek but I do wish I had kept one of those SUF Muffs too.

Well, I've had to put up with a lot of stuff over the past few years. Maybe that got me a couple of points to spare.

The downside is that I JUST bought the black Russian version last week!

I'd be curious to your observations on the difference between the two. I've played both but never got to do a good A/B comparison but my impression was the differences between the Black and Green units are slight and mostly urban myth.

That said I think I actually like the Black ones better

I have the same pedal and it rocks. Yours is pristine though! Mine is slightly mangled from an emotional outburst when the switch stopped latching. The switch works now, but the case is still extra-angular.
