New MXR Script Phase 90 SOUNDCLIPS

Sign in to disble this ad
This is the older, I believe no longer in production version, which has an adapter jack, script logo, an LED, and I believe true bypass. This is not the 74 vintage phase 90. Just got this in from my twin brother.

Here's me noodling around with it, rate around 11 o'clock or so, cleanish setting on my amp and with my SG Bass with deadish strings. Check it out:

I like the way this pedal sounds with my rig, as I thought I would. I'm trying to find the perfect modulation pedal with one knob for myself, and this is a solid contender, there's really a lot you can do with it. More clips to come, but you guys check this out and let me know what you think!

Here it is riffing and noodling around with some amp distortion to go with it.

My first pedal was a Phase 90 but I think I like the Small Stone better.

I've owned some Small Stones, I used to prefer those, but I'm starting to like the Phase 90 better, it's a little less dark which I'm starting to find handy sometimes. But it still does a good dark phase tone too, here is the Phase 90 used to spice up a reggae bassline:

Thanks! My current rig is always in my profile, but here is what it is now:

Bass:

Gibson Heritage Cherry SG Bass (modified with Dimarzio Model One mudbucker, pickup selector, master volume, improved tone control, and Kahler 7410 vibrato). D'addario EXL220's.

Pedals:

Wilson Effects Custom Bass Wah -> MXR Script Phase 90 -> HBE Bajo Mos -> Korg Pitchblack

Amp:

Soultone Marshall 2061X Lead and Bass

Cab:

Emperor 2x15" with Celestion Speakers

Mic:

Shure SM57

run straight into a soundcard and into audacity on my computer. There is no post production whatsoever on these clips, I'm not even running them into a mixer of any kind.

Hey Mark,
I just wanted to say that you're one of my favorite players on the sound clips. Your grooves are always...shall we say...HELLA GREASY!!

And yes, that is a compliment.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

Here's a new take on a bassline for a song I do using the Phase 90:

I kind of like the slower speeds on this pedal. Adds some movement and dimension without hijacking my tone.

This is not a proper phase shifter demo thread. I have not composed a disco song with unlimited terribly white dance possiblities.

Now this thread is complete.

I swear, you have quite possibly my favorite tone i've ever heard. I know many may disagree, but its got that rick bite to it, but its sooo much fatter. I love it.
I like the soundclips, really great playing. Cool sounds, and i'm not normally a fan of phase effects.
And that last one, awesome.

Yeah, you can guess how I feel about Ted Nugent. Him and especially Bob Seger. Everyone in my state loves Bob Seger, and when you go downstate here every old musician down there claims to have been in Bob Seger's band, like I'm going to really respect them for that.

Here is the Phase 90 in place of a leslie in a Jimi Hendrix classic.

Does not make a good replacement for a leslie cab. Still a cool effect though, if nothing like a leslie.
