new pedal board additions

Passing this along for the sake of any discussion and benefit it may have.

I have been using a Morely A/B switch to change basses with and for the most part if has been working fine. However because I have gravitated into often having to switch effects banks for each bass, I have been frustrated with the added "pedal board dancing". That, coupled with another reason I won't clog this post with, has compelled me to ditch the A/B switch and install a little micro mixer on the pedal board in order to set initial gain levels on the two basses (which are much different), and have them both on-line at the same time allowing me to just pick one up on the fly, hit a bank switch (if needed) and go.

My initial choice for the mixer was a Behringer UB 502 because obviously price, but also size. Well it wound up back ordered from MF so I cancelled the order and called my friend who is a dealer for ART. I had hit the website and didn't see exactly what I wanted but I knew that ART, yorkville, traynor etc, were all under the same umbrella company.

Turns out, there is this mfg called ALTO that is part of the group. Never heard of them before, maybe some have. Almost exactly the same design, size and price range. Dead quiet too. They have a whole line of mixers of all sizes. Taking the pedal board to a casino gig saturday and trying it out on their bass rig. perhaps an alternative to Behringer for some.

I have a DOD 240 resistance mixer I use. Nice little box, can be used with one input and 4 out or 4 in and 1 out. Handy little tool for swapping around or mixing effects in parallel etc.
