New pedal day!

I just got a Malekko Ekko 616, and a Protone Kompressor today.

Both pedals are friggin amazing!

I am simply blown away by how great both really are. The Protone, is the first compressor that I have used that I really liked.

And the 616 goes without saying, it is a great pedal!

I am really happy that I own these pedals. I will be sure to post some pics soon. Either with them alone, or with my other pedals.

congrats! good stuff!

i have a 616 and adore it. silly little red bugger.

i've never used the Protone. what comp's have you tried that you didn't like?

i have a BBE Optostomp, and it's decent, but i might pick up an Aggy TLC. i think i need something to even out the volume drop during tapping sections.

I eventually want to buy an analog delay pedal and the 616 is on my list.

Anyone ever compared a 616 to a 600?

I have tried some boss compressors in the past... I tried that EHX Metaphors also... I didn't like either too much. I don't boss pedals in general so I am pretty biased, and the EHX pedal was way too noisy at any usable setting.

The Protone does what it is supposed to do, and that it! I don't need a compressor that has a built in distortion circuit (metaphors), and I don't want a bunch of knobs getting in the way! Plus I scored it off of Ebay for a killer price! winner winner If it were lost or stolen, I would have no problem buying a new one at full retail. I believe that they sell for around 100 bucks new.

Really the kicker to me for the Protone Kompressor was that when using my fretless, the harmonics just sound much better. Much more defined tone.

For anyone who is looking at analog delays you should get the Malekko 616. I can't say enough good things about this little box! And it is little!
