New Pedal Day! EHX Content

Today, I got the very last Electro-Harmonix Holier Grail from Musician's Friend! Just thought that I would share my happiness with other people. This is my first reverb pedal and I haven't tried it out yet. Opinion on it to come later!

Not only is it beautiful, but I got it for just $99

Wow, you opened it up before you tested it out?
Almost like getting the Cracker Jack prize before you eat the popcorn
Enjoy the pedal.

I've never heard of anyone here using the Holier Grail for the bass. You may be the first on TB

Yeah, the gate speed switch was disconnected from the actual electronic component for some reason. So, I figured I'd just pop her open and reattach it myself. Took all of 2 minutes instead of shipping it off to EHX and having someone there do it.

Just gave it a quick run through with a crappy combo. Pretty much sounds like the reg. holy grail with the added "room" verb (which I find to sound pretty sweet- Just like a bathroom!). Finding the "sweet spot" on the threshold level was a bit harder than I thought it would be. After a bit of tweaking and figuring out my dynamics, I was able to dial in a pretty reliable setting that fit my playing well.

All in all, I am very satisfied with the pedal-even though it came "sort of" damaged. Seeing how I paid less than half of the original value for a new item, I am pleased

Really? Looks like I may be on my own, seeing how they just stopped making them. They're also pretty hard to find on the used market for a reasonable value.
