I had this crazy dream the other night ...and it got me thinking. I want a pedal that has a Phaser, Chorus, and Flanger all in one box...with seperate switches for each. I will call it the PhasoChoruFlange. I think if I could just order all the DIY kits for each separate pedal, and then get my buddy to build me a custom box for it, it would be a sweet *** pedal. Does anyone see any theoretical problems with this. I am no electrical engineer....but some input would be awesome from you guys with lots of EE experience..or pedal modding experience in general. Many thanks,

Seems pointless to have them all in one enclosure apart from it being very cool!

All I remember from my dream last night was I was driving back from rehearsals on the A19 and it started raining, and it took me ages to figure out that I had to turn the wipers on.
(may be to do with a near-disaster moment I had with an ocean-sized puddle on the A19 once when it wasn't raining)
Edit: Another pointless remark: A road sign near where I nearly died reads "Deighton - Please Drive Carefully", being the name of the town, and also my surname.

That said some sort of innovative twist to how they interact with each other beyond simply running one into another (maybe the option of choosing in what order the signal runs through them when you're using more than one effect...?) would be cool... But it'd also make it more complicated.

| | | | As long as the end result sounds like you want, I see no problems. Just make sure you know which clones you want before building.
Whenever I get the time and am actually home, I plan on a couple pedal projects. One is a combo pedal that would be a Big Muff and Tube Screamer in one box. I figure the most popular fuzz and OD in one box would be pretty cool. Just need the time.

I might contact a few custom builders and see what they say. It would be a great idea to be able to choose which effect runs through which. Kind of like the Pigtronix Disnortion if you will. I have a feeling it will cost a pretty penny, and I want it custom painted too! I can see it now! I wish I could remember my dreams more often. |
