Is this a new pedal - an MXR CSP-001 Variphase Phaser pedal? It's a Phase 90 inside a crybaby style box (according to the description). I have GAS!!

I've even personally complained about it.
The threads on it date back to April 28, 2007, when it was initially released.

You know that the pedal operates like a wah too right? You can't set it to a speed you like and leave it there, it will rock back to minimum (and probably actuate the on/off switch just like the Crybaby) |

I guess I tend to have more fun with pedals that I "use" rather than ones that I set and forget. I am just wondering how the voicing of the phasing using the wah style pedal would compare to a dial. Obviously there would be limitatons with this style of a phaser.
Hey Boo- at least it was only mentioned inside a 4 reply thread. Could have been worse. I try ...I am only one man though working with various limitations.

Obviously there would be limitatons with this style of a phaser. | It's my understanding that this sounds just like the Phase 90.
The "issues" I have with it are the following: - The pedal controls the rate. It's not really an issue... it's the point of the pedal. But I would rather have a manually sweeping phaser or flanger pedal. Still, I could see how a guitarist might really love the option of a variable-rate phaser they can adjust like a wah.
- The pedal is switchless, in the very same way the 105Q is. So the delay gap could be annoying... as can the fact that you'd have to manually hold it down to maintain a certain rate.
- The bypass. 'Nuff said.
