New pedals from Wilson Effects - Trem-mellow and Haze Vibe

Sign in to disble this ad
I was just poking around online and I went to Kevin's site to link a friend of mine to Kevin's wahs and I found the Trem-Mellow and Haze Vibe. As some of you know I sold my Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe and Tremolo and am now modulation-less, and I'm in the market for a new Trem and Vibe.

I was really wanting a Mad Professor Mellow Yellow Tremolo, but the tone in the demos is great for this and it's much, much cheaper:

It also has an expression pedal jack, which could be cool. But what really impressed me was the Haze Vibe:

Nice and small, you know I prefer pedals with only 2 knobs, has the Vibrato and Chorus modes where my Voodoo Lab lacked the vibrato, and is still powerable with a 9 volt battery! (As you guys probably know I got rid of my pedalboard and now use batteries.) What's more is it can be ordered in a wah pedal enclosure for expression control, or has a exp input jack for said purpose. For not much more than the Voodoo Lab, but much better features, I think this will work great for my next vibe!

Just thought I'd share my excitement with you guys about finding out about these new pedals! If I can swing it I might have to order that Trem-Mellow soon, I'm really missing my old Tremolo.

The Trem-Mellow sounds pretty sweet. Almost like the Demeter Tremulator that I own but with a very nice volume boost built in.

The Haze vibe indeed looks really cool. I'd be most interested in the foot version if I were to get one. Ideally it would have an adjustable minimum and maximum rate at heel down/toe down, but I'm not sure that would be possible with analog. One of the main features I really miss in the ModFactor.

I know all about the Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe 2 and its iterations. IIRC, it still doesn't have a minimum/maximum speed that you can set to the heel down/toe down positions of the treadle.

Yeah. If you have something in mind in particular for minimum/maximum speeds, maybe Kevin could do it in a custom order, I don't know. Wouldn't hurt to ask him, he's been great to work with for me. I assume all you'd need to make it happen are certain minimum and maximum resistances, which might be possible with a resistor in series and/or the right value pot.

I think the easiest way would be to put a switch on the enclosure allowing you to either use the foot tread or a knob on the side for rate. That way you could use it like a stompbox or like a foot controller. Hmmmmm
