New project -- what should I put on the board? Suggestions please

Hey all,

I got completely fed up with the guitarist and drummers I've been playing with and am starting up a new music project with what is becoming a very weird instrument setup:

- Gameboy sequencers doing percussion, some bass, some melody
- violin
- opera singer
- DJ
and me on bass and guitar. I have no idea where this could go, but I'll need a setup ready for our first practice/jam session this weekend.

I don't know what size or order and I don't think my current setup will work too well (bass/guitar >> DD-6 >> DOD FX25 >> EHX DMM >> MXR Blue Box >> DOD Bass Grunge >> Ibanez Mostortion >> RC-20xl).

Off the board I have 2 Whammy IVs, a BBE Opto Stomp, a BYOC Armstrong Twin, BYOC Lazy Sprocket, Boss PS-3, RC-50, Roland GR-20, Boss PH-3, MXR Stereo Flanger, Dano FAB Flange, and an EHX Pulsar.

Whatever I don't end up using (and can power) I'll set up for the violin. The singer will be using my Korg KP3 and maybe a pedal.

I want something that will be interesting, but usable. I want at least 2 delays on the board and lets say no more than ten pedals total, preferably less.

Please, suggest.

Thanks.

i'd go with RC20XL, Whammy, an OD/Dist or two, Lazy Sprocket, Pulsar, MXR flanger, DMM, RC50, and DD6. i'd put them in that order, too.

i like the idea of a Whammy and Lazy Sprocket on the board, as you could coax some cool violin-type sounds using those two pedals and have some interesting interplay with the violinist. i don't think the GR20 would fit that well, since you already have a plethora of different sounds at your disposal with a DJ around. i will always suggest at least one drive on any given board... so many places in music where that flavor is appreciated. finally, the idea of making a cool loop then effecing that loop, THEN looping that effected loop is very cool to me.

in any case... sounds like a very interesting project! i hope it works out well. i'd be interested in hearing the resulting music.

Lazy Sprocket and/or Pulsar into the FX25 would sound good, and I'd try and get some glitchy PS-3 stuff going on too!
