Thought you guys might get some use out of this. It took a few hours to do so hopefully it wasn't a waste.

Let me know what you think. If you're not interested in listening to it all, skip to the last 30 seconds for the conclusion.

Youtube's compression kind of kills any A/B testing between analog pedals and digital modelers IMO.

^ The added code removes some of that compression.

I'm about split even on this. Some of the stompboxes sound better to me, but then some of the M13 units sound better.

Very informative, thanks for time taking the time to do it!

Single stomps for me

Does the M13 have a blend "knob" for any of its drives, like the sparkle drive does? I'm on my netbook right now, so I can't hear anything on the video at a decent quality.

I lol'd at the kitteh at 2:52. Almost like he (she?) was responding to the sound of the flanger.

Tremolo - I preferred the Guttermouth. It sounded like it was a bit more dynamic to my ears. Not a stark difference, though.

Chorus - I preferred the M13.

Flanger - I went with the BF-2B. Sounds more pleasing to my ears.

OD 1 - The M13 sounded like it had more low end and a generally better tone than the Digitech/Guttermouth. I was impressed.

Fuzz 1 - The Superfuzz had far more low end from what I could hear, and a much more pleasing character than the "Color Drive."

Fuzz 2 - Exactly the opposite from the results of Fuzz 1. The "Jumbo fuzz" had a really nice sound, where I thought the Catastro sounded a bit dull and lacking in low end presence.

OD 2 - The M13 won out here. Better low end, much "grittier" texture.

Of course, as stated before, this is on YouTube, and it isn't the most controlled setting possible, but my verdict is that the M13 easily replaces some of your pedals, while it needs a bit of work to catch up to those mentioned above.

Thanks for the video.

Don't let this video be a definitive comparison if you're on the fence; I truly do suck at EQ'ing and this was slapped together pretty quickly this morning. Better results will be had in time, but I honestly just want to get rid of my pedal board cause it's taking up lots of space. Impatient!

A lot of them have a "mix" setting, yes.

My cats actually came barreling in meowing and walking all over the pedals a few times. I had to hiss at them to where they'd run away and stay there.

I think my only real big complaint is the flanger. The BF-2B really is a killer pedal and I had a hard time dialing that nice Tool tone on the M13 (BF-2B all @ 2 o clock).

OK, GAS attack (for an M13 or an M9) is now officially confirmed, and I have you and this particular reply to thank for it.

On one hand I'm happy to help, but now I feel bad for your bank account.

Do you have the 2.01 firmware? If so, try the 80A Flanger.

I do. The flange was the hardest for me to dial in properly (read: I was sort of lazy and rushed through it). I'd love to get a sound closer to the boss, thanks for the tip.

It's what the model is called in the M13. Yes, I know the "real" one is ADA.
