I've gone through a few different wahs. I currently am using a Dunlop Bass Crybaby 105Q because it does the job. It's actually my second one; my first one didn't survive the A/B test against my old Morley Dual Bass Wah. I ended up selling the Morley becuase I wasn't using wah in the band at the time, but now that I am, I'm tempted to pick one up again. The 105Q I have now seems much better than I remember it, but I'm still aching for something a bit brighter and less "funky".
Of course, my main reason for being interested in doing so is because of how unusual Morley wahs are. And when I saw Heaven and Hell (Black Sabbath w/ Dio) live recently, I became reminded of one much-loved wah I forgot about and have never had the pleasure of using: the Tycobrahe Parapedal. And that's what led me to explore other oddities, including the Parapedal derivatives.
This new Wilson wah has my attention...

I'll be patiently waiting for the first group of us bassists to pick one up to hear the verdict on it.

The Parapedal circuit is something very unusual among wah pedals, as it's a two-pot design (instead of one). The 12 position wah is based on a different vintage wah, so it would cover different territory.
I'm not sure how closely he's adhering to the Parapedal circuit, given the controls he plans to add, but I'm itching to try out a finished version...

Long ago, when Tycobrahe (makers of the Octavia and Pedalflanger) was still in business, they made a wah pedal called the Parapedal. It's the legendary wah used by guys like Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi (bassist and guitarist of Black Sabbath), among others.
It has an unusual effect overall - like a mix of phasing and full-range wah. The pedal itself was large and blue.
Chicago Iron makes modernized replicas of the old Tycobrahe pedals, now calling the Parapedal the Parachute.

| | | | Bear in mind the Chicago Iron replica is not only super duper accurate down to the box in comes in, but also ridiculously expensive especially considering its impossible to find one to test out. They do however make a somewhat cheaper version mounted in a dunlop wah. Its still like $200 though.
Hopefully this will be just as good for a bit less.

I'm not sure how closely he's adhering to the Parapedal circuit, given the controls he plans to add, but I'm itching to try out a finished version... | Hey all just thought I'd chime in. Hopefully I don't get spammed out that's why I usually just browse. The factory setting is the parapedal circuit. I've made the q frequency selectable. First you have the original parapedal setting then if yoou turn it one click towards the heel it will go a little deeper and higher broadening the sweep. 2 clicks back even deeper and broader three clicks back even deeper and broader. Now if you move it one click forward from the factory setting you will get a higher low end and higher top end. Finally the 2 clicks forward and you get a lower low end and a higher top end but not quite as high as the other settings. The Quack knob allows you to dial in or dial out more of the sweet spot. In other words with the knob in the factory position it is at full Quack. You can take some or all of the Quack out of the pedal if you like. This to me seemed rather useful when using it with high gain as I sometimes get annoyed with the sweet spot where the q sweep changes from high to low when playing at higher gain levels. All in all a very flexible version of this circuit. I may want to mention that it is positive ground also so daisey chain and multiple power supplies are out. You can use a dedicated 9v power supply or 9v battery though. Thanks for your thoughts.
