Newb on Effects, Will the hothand be made by other pedal manufacturers?

Hey,
I've been looking at the source audio bass envelope pro filter, especially interested in the Hothand. The problem is that Id rather have a multi effect processor which would give me other tones such as distortion, wah, compression and volume control. Do you think any other manufacturer will come out with a hand controlled sensor, maybe like boss/digtech/zoom which will integrate it with a multieffect processor.

Note: This is due to price constraint of like $300~ for a full effect setup which i will probably have to use for the next 2-3 years easy

The Hot Hand is a propitiatory device exclusive to Source Audio. Pretty sure they have patents and such. With that said, bear in mind that they also have distortion, wah, flange, etc. all compatible with the Hot Hand, not just the envelope filter. And I believe their midi pedal does allow the Hot Hand to control non-SA effects and processors.

Id love to pick up all the SA pedals but as you can see, a 300$ budget is limiting... How does this midi pedal work btw, can i use it to mod a Boss me20b/ boss me50b?

I've never used the midi pedal personally, but I think it'll work with any other processor/pedal that can accept midi commands/information. The president of SA actually posts here, so he or someone with more experience might chime in.

Copperhead has hit most of the key points. I will elaborate.

We do have key patents for Hot Hand. It was the first thing we did as a company. Developing Hot Hand and a line of pedals to go with it has been massively expensive. Our only chance to make this money back is to be the key supplier of Hot Hand products (or potentially license to others).

The Hot Hand itself needs to have a bit of processing prior to being used with a non-Source Audio product, and I will cover this next. I will note that our Bass Envelope Filter (non-pro) is only $119. We have stopped the promotion of sending out free Wired Hot Hands with these, but if you send me a PM I will send you one.

There are currently 2 ways to use Hot Hand to control other pedals, and in about 6 months there will be 2 more.

1) The most low cost way to get Hot Hand to control another pedal is to purchase our Hot Hand Wah Filters directly from us. The wired version is $99. This has an EXPRESSION output which will work with most pedals with an EXPRESSION input. If you want to get into using Hot Hand to control other pedals on a budget, this is THE way to go. The Hot Hand Phaser/Flanger (also purchased from us directly) also has this feature and is at the same price.

2) Both of the options in #1 can be upgraded to the "wireless" version for an extra $100.
3) The MIDI/EXP product is currently sold out until we bring a new improved model to market. It offers much more control options than the ones above and is best suited for the advanced user.

4) Eventually we will come out with a new version of the Wireless Hot Hand Adapter which will have an EXPRESSION output and be ready to use with other pedals.

Hope this is all clear!
