Newbie effects chain for an old dog.... So, been playing professionally for 14 years now, and have never once even thought of using a pedal for anything. However, I'm playing a lot in a dance band that does a lot of 70's and 80's tunes and I have decided to take the plunge whole hog. I am looking for critiques of this setup: Bass>>Aguilar Tone Hammer>>Loop box>>EHX Bass Blogger>>EHX BMS>>passive mix box>>loop>>Amp Do I even need the loop box? These particular pedals say they have true bypass, but I would like to keep my clean sound as is through the Tone Hammer. Also, I want to the passive mixer to control overall volume of the effects versus my clean sound. Do I have it in the right place in the chain? Am I missing anything? The goal is to produce key synth sounds and maybe some slightly overdriven tones. |
Get a Boss LS2 instead of the looper and mixer. It will do the job of both and is much more versatile, Not to mention that passive mixing is sketchy at best. The bass blogger isn't very well regarded around here, but I'm not much of an overdrive expert. |
Thanks for the heads up on the Boss. Never saw it it. |
