Nightwalker Bass Tube Preamp or another suggestion?

Hello All,

I love my epifani ul502 and love the channel switching. however, it isn't the same as my vintage tube amp. Yet, i feel like I am missing something there as well.

Has anyone tried a tube pedal effect or something like the nightwalker to give yourself that vintage boost in tone? Recommendations?
Would I be better plugging something like this in the effects loop? I would think before the amp with the OD selector.

thank u!

Dha makes tube preamp for bass, verellen meatsmoke had gotten lots of love here, Julie amp Monique, Carl martin bass drive and ebs valve drive are the other alternatives. you can go solid state with vt bass and bddi by tech 21

Haven't tried other tube bass pedals, but EBS Valvedrive is excellent for the purpose. A low gain setting and a Tung Sol reissue makes it glow. I'd say go between bass and amp.

have the ebs and the DHA vt2. DHA hands down winner for me.
They are both great just different and I won't be getting rid of either.
I've seen some love for the bottle rocket in a few posts but never heard one myself

I've used the Effectrode PC-2A to warm up SS amps. Did a great job for me when I needed a more old-school tone.

A big +1! I
I've been using a Valve Drive for years now & it's indispensable to me for adding just a touch of grit and warmth! Tung Sol reissue tube all the way for a really Neve-like pleasant high end!
