NIN Fuzz (Video)

Ok, so in that little collaboration... Trent has some kind of fuzz on his bass.

I've heard he uses a Blue Box a lot (on everything), but my Blue Box doesn't sound like that, even with the C11 mod.

So... anyone know what he's using... or something that sounds like that?

There are a couple of pedals on the desk, it looks like... I dunno if those are for the bass, though.

Can't help with the pedal, although any aggressive fuzz can likely get you close, but THANK YOU for the video. One of my favourite NIN songs sung by Peter Murphy, sweet.

I know that on Ghosts, which I find to be an absolute masterpiece, there are a lot of Devi Ever effects.

EDIT: Finished the video, that was extraordinary. I have to go cut myself like a 17-year-old gothic girl. Wow.

It is a great video, isn't it?

I have an EHX Graphic Fuzz and MXR Blue Box. Neither will do it quite right.

The Blue Box doesn't let the initial attack of the note come through, and the graphic fuzz is... too smooth (?)... maybe.

I know it's not a PE Depth Charge which was one of his fav bass fuzz's

I want to go with the Swollen Pickle by Way Huge but it sounds really gated which leads me to a Devi ever pedal, I don't think I've ever had anything that saturated but easy to control before, my bass mod fuzzsaw comes close but not quite as gated.

Whatever it is i want one

EDIT: Thinking more on it if I can get the octaves set right on it the Soul Provider has that sort of gain in spades and the adjustable gate

It honestly reminds me a lot of my LBM...but I'm not a Connoisseur of fuzz.

LBM = Little Big Muff?

I actually just sat down and tried the Graphic Fuzz again, and was able to get a little closer.

I don't know how similar the Graphic Fuzz and Big Muff are, though.

I know I sometimes sound like Malekko's employee of the month, but that sound is really similar to the Germanium B:assmaster.

That pedal's been at the top of my list for a while.

But, you know, money is tight, and Bergantino cabs look sooooo pretty...

Certain aspects of the tone certainly do... Id say +1 to that.

The Burgermeister (TB user) has a soundclick file called Burgermeister that has hints of that tone through it. He is using some other effects with it too. Its not the same, but certain parts sound quite similar IMO

EDIT: I believe its the other effects hiding the Assmaster a bit...

A lot of that tone is coming from using a pick on the bass.

There is a pedal beside keys in front of trent.......

The camara keeps missing it...

I think its green.

EDIT: at the end around 7:30, the bass goes solo.
