Am I the only bassist who still runs directly to the amp? I mean, I have a few DigiTech pedals but they were a gift.
I think the pure sound of the amp sounds better then any type of distortion or pedal.

Leave pedals to the guitarists.

You're not original. Leave the effects forum alone.

Don't flatter yourself, sir.

You're not 'the only one'. There are plenty of people who run a clean signal, as do us effects guys!

Coming onto the effects forum and asking if someone on here doesn't use pedals is unoriginal, unfunny and alarmingly unwitty - essentially, stupid question.

Am I the only bassist that never slaps? I mean, I know a couple licks but only for giggles.

I think the sound of a groove sounds better than any type of slap or pop.

Leave the wankery to the guitarists.

I just like a clean dish without any ice cream. No toppings, either.

Ok, you got me.
New question: Is there a pedal out there that can add to my tone without distorting my sound?

the question has been answered. People come to the effects forum to discuss effects. The OP was just being obnoxious and he knew it.

Actually, I have an extensive pedal board but I can also run straight to the amp as well thanks to true-bypass loops & pedals.

It doesn't have to be an all-or-none issue.
