Rack rigs have faded in popularity a great deal, and as the micro stuff gets better and better, I would expect the fade to continue.
It seems that pedal tuners are all the rage now. There seems to be a great variety of them available these days.

| | | | Really? Jeez, they had a virtual lock on the market. Behringer was the only other game in town. Truth is, rack systems are still extrememly popular in the pro/touring world. In fact, I'd say they are the norm, not the exception. Every big band I've seen in the last 20 years has at least one rack or two on the side of the stage with a tuner in it. I checked the Korg website and they aren't even listed anymore. Shocking to me. Think of how many bass heads are sold now that are rack mounted? Still plenty, and in that rack often times goes a tuner.
I guess Behringer will have the market.

Check the TB classifieds, and good luck.

| | | | I have an old DTR-1, maybe it's DTR-1000, don't remember, that's the problem, I wanted the newer style with the brighter display. Maybe I should wait a few months for the used prices to go up because there is nowhere else to get one!

| | | | I think Sabine has been done for awhile. Behringer is the last man standing? Wow!
I guess I better be happy with my old Korg then.

I'll buy that.
The problem is the pro/touring world makes up about 1/100 of one percent of the consumers representing Korg's market. |

| | | | Yeah, but they have no competition! No pro touring rack is going to put a Behringer in there. So when you are the only game in town, and such a huge percentage of not only studios, but pro racks, and us weekend warriors who still use racks (and I'd dare say, the majority are bassists since our amps still are rack based, mini's not included), and that's still a ton of rack tuners, even if they kept the same model for 10 years straight. I'll bet Korg will suddenly come out with another similar or the same soon enough.

personally I think the Furman PL-Tuner was the bomb digitty. I'm glad I have one ... |

What a drag. | When I used a rack tuner, I always carried a footswitch and cable so I could switch the mute and silently tune without walking back to the rack. The new pedal tuners are no bigger than that switch box and have the same muting functionality.
I just use my iPhone to tune these days. I am carrying it with me anyway. |

I personally use a sonic research pedal or my I phone.
