I 've gota brand new Tone Hammer and find serious hum and hiss while engaged, especially when turning Master over 11 o'clock or Treble over 2 o'clock, before that there is still hiss but tolerable, but many reviews on TB say Tone Hammer is not quiet only until extreme settings, so I am wondering if mine got a flaw.
I have tried with different power(brand new batteries, 18v adapter, phantom power),basses(fneder 78 jazz, epiphone zenith, and even no bass) and cables, and the situation is the same, both XLR out and 1/4'' out have noise.
Any opinion? |

Any opinion? | Do those settings provide you with unity gain? If your engaged tone is much louder than your disengaged tone, then your adding a lot of gain which will always add noise.

Any opinion? | You shouldn't have any hum at all. Hiss should only be present when cranked. We had shipped some that needed the chassis ground point re-done. Write or call us and we'll take a look at it.
Could be one of those. I thought we got them all!

| | | thanks Eublet,
while I set everything at 12 o'clock except Master at 10.5, TH brings the same volume as bypassed, and some hum as well,
Thanks DB,
It's a great relief to hear from you, I hope my TH is just the last one needs to be recalled.
Recently I find another possibly related thing: "Sometimes" TH cannot be phantom powered when GND/LIFT button is pushed.
Actually I had written to Aguilar tech support since last December but still waiting for specific solution, just hope it could be faster | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
