| noise issues with headphones

I think it may in part be due to the wiring in my house but I get noise through headphones that I don't really get through my amp. Well, let me clarify some more, the noise level through the amp fluctuates but through headphones there is a constant noise. It's a fairly high pitched hum and it goes away if I step on a pedal with bare feet. So, if I'm recording or playing through headphones I try to keep a bare toe on something at all times. Now, as it's turning colder here in New England I'm far less inclined to take my shoes off as my music room isn't very well heated. Anybody have similar issues? Suggestions? Does the EHX Hum Debugger help with this kind of noise? Or a power conditioner? I don't think it's a grounding issue in the bass because it doesn't matter which bass I'm playing or how I'm touching it. |
