Normally On Momentary Switch Pedal?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I'm looking for a pedal that will pass the signal when I step on it and cut the signal when I lift my foot. I want it to be noiseless, and I don't want a switch that clicks to pass and then I have to click it again to cut. I need it to be very fast. Is there anything out there like that?

The Boss F5-5U (one unlatched pedal only) or FS-6 (two pedals configurable for unlatched or latched operation) sound like what you're looking for.

It'd be way easy to build, if you're interested in that sorta thing. Literally an enclosure, two jacks, and a switch.

I guess I said it wrong. I want a Normally OFF momentary pedal, so the cough drop does the opposite of what I want, but I was wondering if I can just buy the cough drop and then replace the switch with a normally closed switch (assuming that the cough drop is built to open and close a ground wire, instead of the direct signal path).

I'm looking at these designs.

Does anyone know if the coughdrop is built to open and close a ground path versus the direct signal path?

Is this what you want? Pretty affordable.

That's not far off from what I did to mod my Morley PWB. The momentary switch it mounted to stick up through the top of the pedal, so that when I'm not stepping on it the signal is true-bypassed right through (around, really) the pedal. When I step on it (and only while I keep my foot on it) the signal is routed through the pedal and the wah effect is heard. It was VERY easy to wire up.

It is relatively easy to build.

You need 2 fooswitches though. One for the non-latching mute and another to bypass the pedal.
