Ok although there are no rules i have hit a sticky point in my long chain of pedals. Just order a moog bass murf, does anybody have any trouble organizing or what ideally would work better out using-- whammy-- octave-- envelope filter-- moog bass murf?

My chain goes- whammy-octave--envelope filter- distortion- phaser- eq-flanger-chorus- delay. I need to put my murf in somewhere tomorrow when it arrives(cant wait!) but just having trouble with chaining whammy, octave, envelope filter, moog bass murf. They all recomend putting them first from guitar order. My pedal board is great the mks pedal pad but takes hours to set up so hopefully wanna nail it in one set up!

Cheers

I got a MuRF a few months ago, and had originally put it behind my multi-effects pedal (Digitech BP80), before my GR-2, which has a Soul Vibe and Mind Bender in the fx loop. Then I added a Boss RC-2 looper, and have gone back and forth on whether to put that in front of the MuRF or after, and ended up going with after most recently. I found that the GR-2 on battery power would be drained somehow by the MuRF, so I'm using an adapter now, and last week moved the GR-2 in front of the MuRF to see how that sounded. I liked it. But I'm now adding a Source Audio Multiwave Distortion Pro and SA Bass Envelope Filter Pro in as well, but running them on a different channel. Though I may split those up, and put the GR-2 on the other chain/channel.

But for you, first I'd recommend adding at least one Moog EP-2 (mine is in the LFO/Sweep jack, though with one of the ones ordered for my SA gear arriving today, I'm going to temporarily try it with one in LFO, the other in the Envelope slot), and placing it after the octave, Whammy, and move the envelope filter around to find out where you want that best. Also, when messing around with the MuRF, notice how much the effects change with the slightest tweaking. You're definitely going to have your hands full, and your mind overloaded for a while. I'm still finding settings that I had no idea of, and will for the next year or more probably. The range of use of the MuRF is incredible! It can be a phaser. It can be a distortion pedal. It can be an odd envelope filter. It can create synth beats, and that expression pedal(s) will give you even more control. Just try different combinations out, but I like running a sick sound through it, to see what the MuRF does to that sound! In fact, I may go home and see how the MuRF handles a signal from the Soul Vibe in a Leslie-esque setting going into it. I had been keeping it strictly behind the MuRF to take the sound wave and send it around the room thru the SVibe, but the possibilities are practically endless!

And just when I thought I was done getting pedals, Moog is coming out with the Cluster Flux Chorus/Flanger!

Yeah i am at a sticky point- my pedal board takes so long to swop around i just wanna get my pedals set up best and put my time into jamming the murf instead of being unhappy with other pedal placements etc. I think i am going to try envelope filter- whammy-octace -murf- then distortion and modulation effects. hopefully get a good balance eith that order. Murf looks amazing so looking forward for it to come
