Not much out there on Aguilar Twin Filter

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently purchased a Aguilar Tone Hammer for my setup, I had tried the Sansamp and the Vt liked the Sansamp but wanted a bit more mid controls. I am very impressed with the TH, have used it live a few times now and got great complements on my sound from fellow musicians in the audience. I then added the Aguilar TLC Compressor and wow, just plugged it in and fiddled a couple minutes and could believe the cool sound I get from the set up now. So here is were the title of my post comes in, I also have a Soundblox Envelope Filter which i to this point have like pretty versatile and we play a lot of 70's Funk/Soul music and it is great for that. Well I am so happy with the Aguilar pedals that I am thinking the Twinfilter might just suit me better then the Soundblox. Can't find too much about them here, I did find a nice review but as I haven't found much it got me to thinking maybe they just haven' become that popular or people just don't care for them. Any way just looking for anyone that has any experience with them. I actually ordered one from Amazon to try it out, kinda feel sorry for them I have used them to try out the Sansamp Programable, VT, MXR Envelope and Octagon, SansAmp Chorus.

I have one and like it very much.
I play with a stereo bass and use effects only on my treble/bridge PU. I do, however, use the Aguilar Twin on the neck/bass PU, it sounds awsome. It really adds volume too.
I hope you like it too!

I'd like to hear your thoughts if you do get the FT. Out of all the vintage and modern analog filters I've tried the Source Audio BEF, Chunk Octavius and Mutron III are my favorites. The BEF will be replaced with a Pro soon.

My experience with the Aguilar TLC, Tone Hammer and Octamizer have me expecting the Filter Twin to become one of my favorites as well. I'm probably going to hold out on trying the FT until I score a real job or my fellow filter junkie FunkintheTrunk buys one first.

Aguilar pedals just sound good and musical. Will the Filter Twin survive on a board with preset-able filters like Source's BEF Pro and a classic like the Mutron III? I don't have high hopes for this but I do want to give a shot.
