Not the Nano Bassballs... so what is this?

So I bought used this a few months ago, and I just noticed this is not the current version offered by EHX. How old is this? The Nano is more rectangular and has the input & output on the sides of the pedal, not the top, and it has a toggle switch, not the black switch mine does.

That's the original form factor.

This is a Bassballs from before EHX switched to Nano and XO casings. Yup, back then, not only was the Small Clone produced in these casings but all other 1 knob pedals... and the 3 knob pedals where made in the same type of box they are currently making the "classic" Big Muff USA.

When was your Bassballs made? I think it somewhere before early 2008... if my memory is good on when EHX switched to Nano casings...

That is one of the NYC reissues, like the 3rd version of 4 I can think of. The old original made in the USA pedals from the late 70's early 80's did not have the status LED indicator and were for a while quite collectible.
Then they made the Russian made Bass Balls aka the big black ugly f.......
Then they did the NYC reissues back to made in the US and then the NANO.

I prefer this model. You can have a trim pot mod done to the filters to control the sweeps with external knobs. Makes the pedal far more versatile.

Wow, that's much older than I expected. I think I might the bassballs nano just because it's more compact and the input/output is on the side, not the top, which is something I really don't like about the one I have. Does anyone know if AC adapter size is the same for the nano? I haven't been able to find one yet so I'm still on 9 volts with the bassballs.
