Note-bending pedal?

Sign in to disble this ad
The other day my guitard was running either his Boss phase shifter or pitch shifter (I forget which) with an expression pedal plugged into it and getting some pretty cool sounds. We were talking about it a little bit, and I thought it would be pretty cool if there was a pedal that looked like a wah (basically an expression pedal) that would allow you to bend notes, without applying any other kind of effect to it. I was thinking spring-loaded exp. pedal (as well as an on/off setting) for for returning to normal pitch, and settings for how far the note would be bent at full travel. Maybe 1/4, 1/2, 1, and 2 steps would be nice. Aside from simple note bending, you could probably use it to get a decent vibrato effect as well.

Does anything even remotely similar to this already exist?

Well, yeah. I meant without having to add the expression pedal. An "all-in-one" solution, if you will.

Boss PS-3 in mode 11 (exp). set the pitch A to unity (12 o clock), pitch B to any thing you want ( go up 7 semi-tones and you have a 5th) and then there you go! run it into an analog delay with strong feedback and you're in heaven!

I know very little about modulation pedals- with those settings would that make the travel of the exp. pedal bend up a 5th? Also, what about bending down?

Dude, you don't have to add an expression pedal to the PS-5. There's a setting where you just depress the footswitch and it bends.
I don't know all of the partics...

with the settings I just told you (set the blend at 100% wet) and you have a exp pedal that in the toe up is normal and toe down is a 5th.
