nova repeater + pedalpower 2

Sign in to disble this ad
I would like to power my new TC Electronics Nova Repeater with my Voodoolab Pedal Power 2 plus, but I'm not sure it is possible/safe.

The manual states it needs 300mA at 9-12V. The Pedal Power can supply 12V, but only 100mA per output, so this is out of the question. It can supply 250mA, but only at 9V. So my questions are:

- is the 50mA difference a problem or not?
- is the 9V a problem or not? The manual states it can be run at 9V, but that the input dynamics will be affected. According to the manual, this should only be a problem if a very hot signal is fed to the pedal. But my main worry is: could the output volume or tone also be affected?
- can any of the above cause any long-term problems with the pedal?

I can of course run the pedal on its own power supply and mount a powerstrip on my pedalboard, but that would take a lot of extra space, and defies the purpose of an expensive power supply like the Pedal Power a bit. Can I avoid this, or did I manage to find the one pedal that the Pedal Power can't power?

Thanks!

Marijn

Thanks for the idea, but wouldn't that give me 220V (I'm in Europe)? I would still need to connect the pedals own transformer to this somehow.
