Sorry, no money for the winner here. I think you all'll be able to figure it out. Don't mind the badly played hysteria riff- I just picked it up today. Hope this works. it's my first time trying to post audio. Here's the link...

distortion anyone_.mp4 - 0.34MB

Have fun

ok, just tried the link and it worked. sorry though- you'll have to hit the download now button. I tried uploading to putfile, but I couldn't get it to work. it would say I succesfully uploaded it as a video, but it wouldn't show up in my account library. weird.

one more thing. when you click on the link, you'll get an annoying pop up- anything from advertisement to some stupid porn thing. just one though, not a neverending bunch of 'em. I'm very sorry, because I didn't know that would happen. the link is still valid, however.

Yeah, that definitely wasn't an XXL or Diesel Dawg - completely different kind of sound, here.

I'm 100% certain it's a fuzz pedal.

The trick is to figure out which one...

It could be an EHX Little Big Muff... my old one could pull off that sort of craziness you're getting in the clip.

EDIT: One more note to add... I'm not hearing any blended clean tone in this. But I don't think that's a sufficient-enough piece of info to discount any fuzz pedal with a Blend knob, as he could easily have the Blend at 100%.

nope, not there yet. I'd give hints, but I can't think of any that wouldn't basically give it away without being ultra vague. I'll give a good hint after more people guess.

nope, not an odb-3.

Jimbob jones- quicktime should be able to play. if you don't have it, I'll convert right now into wmv or something and repost...

ok, here it is in wmv instead of mp4:
distortion anyone_.wmv - 0.42MB

wow, doing it that way didn't make us download it. let me see if uploading it in mpg gives the same results:
distortion anyone_.mpg - 0.39MB

cool- mpg doesn't make you download it either. please, anyone post if they can't listen to it in mpg form so I know what to use next time.

Can you tell if it's specifically a distortion or a fuzz? That might narrow it down.

And some vintage Muffs sound close to that, but I don't know the Muff lineage quite well enough to take a stab at which ones get that meaty sound (the newer ones don't).

It sounds too much like a fuzz to be anything else, IMHO. I thought it was a Little Big Muff because it can sound like that under the right conditions.

Oh, I forgot to ask - what kind of bass are you using, foxworthy?

Sometimes companies mislabel their pedals, like the XXL isn't so much an overdrive as a fuzz, so I'm just wondering what it's labeled as.

It better not be an amplifier or any nonsense like that. I expect a pedal!

Well, he's not from Baton Rouge, so I think we'll be safe with pedal guesses.
