I'm bored as everyone sits around in their turkey coma. I've collected the reviews I've written, or samples I've contributed in the last year or so. Maybe to be really annoying, I'll keep it updated as I do more.

Edit: Expanded to include all the pedals I have owned as point of reference/comparison for any reviews I do. This may or may not be complete, it's just what I can remember or have reference too.

Envelope Filters:
DriveFuzz
Octave Boxes:
Delay
Chorus:
  • Danelctro - Cool Cat (***)
  • Analogman Mini Chorus w/Deep Mod and Mix Knob (**)

Do you find it hard to dial in the right amount of delay you want on the Subdecay without the 3-way knob (on the DD-3) having the 50, 200 and 800 ms labeled? Also how does it sound at an 800 ms delay, the ebay auction page said it can get a little low-fi at max delay settings?

EDIT: Sorry I had just kind of skimmed the review before and didn't really read it but it answered my questions but I came up with another. Are you able to do all the cool self-oscillating stuff that you can do with the Boss delays?

Just wanted to say thanks for your reviews. And that goes for anyone else who has posted a review with clips. I may not post in all of them, but I read (and listen) to all of 'em.

Thanks grygrx. I just went through essentially all of these. Great samples, very thorough, and great quality.

When can we expect this Pickle Clone show down?

I do actually find it easier to dial in, keeping it there is another issue.. touchy touchy knobs. I could get it self oscillate while testing, but that's not something I'm normally doing with a delay, so I'm not sure how I would directly compare those features between the pedals.

Well, I backed out of a Wren and Cuff clone for now after making an absurd purchase. I still have the BYOC Pickle Clone w/4 position mid switch on the way (should be here today or monday). I'll be having the showdown between those two the second it arrives in my house
When will it get written and recorded? Hopefully next week.

I think it would be great to see more of these from people, it sets a nice perspective when reading the reviews from someone. A person thinks that new pedal XYZ is the one to rule them all, I want to know what other pedals they have experience with (and maybe something about their likes and dislikes) before I let gas overtake me.

Yeah its an excellent point generally we fx freaks let our reputations preceed us but with more and more noobs coming by.

I think it would be a great help to them for a quick and easy place to locate soundclips and find reviews. I'm forever saying oh I have soundclips posted and reviews do a search for them, would be much better to do as you've done and have them in your sig.

Oh and your Depth Charge link goes to the pitch pirate I only noticed cos I want to see your opinions on the pedal because I have to say so far it's not blown me away

Maybe we should just have one big thread where everyone posts once and does a big list like this, then when they add a new pedal they can edit it, then when the editing capability expires, just post and updated list.

Question Pedal Confusion

Forgive my ignorance about bass pedals, but I actually have never used anything other than an occasional chorus (and that only recently). I had played top 40 rock and blues many years ago and am getting back into playing again now. I have come across some very interesting pedals such as the EBS OctaBass and some compressors, but am not sure how much I would actually use them for the music I am now playing, e.g. dance music and older standards. You seem very knowledgeable about these devices and I am wondering if you can shed some light on pedals and their use. I know it's a big topic, but just some general guidelines as to what types of pedals work best for what types of music genres would really be insightful.
Thanks for your and any other folks input on this subject.
