NPD- Cosmichorus

I recently had the pleasure to meet up with fellow TBer Shish for a trade.

I am now the proud owner of a Dr Scientist Cosmichorus. I am crazy about this pedal! I can't believe how great it really is. For the last year or so I have been playing with a Small Clone pedal. First I will say that it is easy to dial in a good chorus sound with the clone, and for around fifty bucks, there isn't a better chorus around. So, I have nothing bad to say about the Small Clone, and this is not a comparison, because that would not be fair.

At first I was intimidated by the amount of knobs and switches on the Cosmichorus. After a quick rundown of what they do from Shish, I was able to quickly dial in THE chorus sound I have been looking for. I was sold instantly. After hearing just one of the sonic possibilities I wanted it. I got to playing with the knobs, and I fell more in love with it. I was so amazed that with so many options, it is basically impossible to dial in a "bad" sound. Now, there are sounds that most of us will not be able to use in a band setting, but they all sound very nice.

I have now had a few hours to play with it, and really tweak things around and get used to the amount of settings. Some people may say that there are to many knobs on it, but they are all very well thought out. Every one has a very specific purpose and that is the key to this pedal. With this one pedal, I am able to call up very different sounding choruses quickly just by a turn of a knob, or the flick of a switch.

If you have not had the opportunity to play with one of these pedals, and you use chorus, then you owe it to yourself to try one of these out. You will not be disappointed.

I just got the exact same pedal 2 weeks ago! I agree it is awesome - very lush and 3d like, however I have certainly dialed in some bad sounds with the speed switch on high and the de-tune up full. But then some would probably love that psychedelic-sea sick-rinse cycle sound

Its nice having a tone knob on a chorus pedal.

oh man, you make feel bad about letting this Cosmi go. i'm very happy with 616 though.

as for me tone knob can go bright enough but can be very dark which is not as useful for bass imo.

btw, if i ever put my hands on the Timeline i probably use 616 as chorus. it's perfect for thickening synth bass sound, i mean PERFECT. none of the chorus pedals even Cosmi couldn't get me where analog delay with modulation can. first i tried to use Echobox for that but there always was some delay. on 616 you can set delay time to zero and that makes me happy

Shish,

You are far more capable than I am of finding a new use for the delay than I am! I am so glad you are happy with it.

I may be wrong, but that might be my old Cosmo...
Best chorus I've ever played hands down.
Congrats bro, you two will make beautiful together I'm sure!

Thanks! We have already come up with some new songs, and improved on one that I have been working on. Lots of great music to come!
