NPD! (heliotrope first impressions)

It was a super belated Christmas present, so my wife let me pick it out myself. I already have a most of what i need for my sound, but my band is potentially without a lead guitar player for a while so I figured I could use something to fill in the upper register a bit.
I'm really digging this pedal. It sounds crazy unique. But I'm torn. The thing I love about it is the amount of differing sounds I can get out of it, but I can't do it on the fly. When I'm playing lines for practice, it tends to just sound like a crazy fuzz and I already have one of those. I feel like this thing is begging for an expression pedal mod. I haven't tried this in a live band setting yet or even in the rest of my chain. I'm not completely sure I'll keep this just yet. I may be exchanging for a malekko trem or vibrato if it doesn't work out.
Anyone have favorite settings?

Heliotrope settings

my two favorite settings:

Gain: low, @ 9o'clock
Switch: HI
SampleRate: very low, below 9o'clock.
Resolution: very low, below 9o'clock. Use 'Resolution' to tune the ring modulation to a note.

The next setting is opposite of the above and sounds very similar. There seems to be some overlap in SampleRate frequency between the two HI/LO settings on the switch.

Gain: low, @ 9o'clock
Switch: LO
SampleRate: near max, above 4o'clock.
Resolution: very high, above 3o'clock. Tuned in similar to the previous setting.

Tuning in a ring mod tone, using SampleRate and Resolution, makes the pedal less of "another crazy fuzz". This effect looses lows. But it works well with digital octave. I use a MicroPOG to add the lows back in and it also enriches the synth effect.

I'll have to try those bisson. I have the mxr octave, I kind of wonder if that will work well before or after the helio. I haven't noticed a ton of low end loss, but again this is the "practicing alone" situation. I'm really curious about running a long delay after it.
