So after battling my local, corporate owned, non negotiatin guitar store over a pedal I ordered online to the store, dropped 90 bucks, and had it backordered two months, I just told them to cancel the whole thing as I wasnt gonna wait THAT long.
But on my way out, I noticed a Deltalab MD-1 metal distortion for 28 bucks. I asked him if he could do 25, he said no, but to his dismay his corporate pals had listed it as $18.67 to just get it out of their hands and away from them. So I happily bought it.
While buying a pedal literally named "Metal Distortion" is not something I am proud of, it can get great tones. Reminds me of the OLD boss pedal Heavy Metal pedal. It isnt a pedal that sounds good on every setting, but is easily dialed in. It has a solid low end great for bass, and a shape knob for the midrange. I havent gotten the chance to test drive it in bass, but I imagine it will sound nice and girthy. On guitar, its sounds very tight and focused, and sounds good for general, ballpark high gain metal tones and sounds EXCELENT FOR SHOEGAZE
So look around for it for cheap money. Deltalab (a GC exclusive company) is out of business now apparently or just discontinuing the line, so you can snag it for cheap.
