NS-2 upgrade?

Sign in to disble this ad
So, Ive been looking into some boutique pedals such as the VT Bass (I currently have no compression) and Aguilar Agro/Catalinbread SFT (to replace an ODB-3).

My question is about the NS-2. It does what I need it to do and it works excellent. At times I can notice a minor tone loss and other times I cannot. Im torn between switching it out and have no clue where to start looking.

Is there an upgrade worth mentioning? Maybe theres a pedal with noise suppression AND compression? Maybe theres a pedal or piece of rackmount gear that has both of those AND more?

Guidance is needed by this young Jedi!!

For top-shelf noise gating, look to the ISP Decimator. Totally transparent, simple and effective.

I had heard of this when originally researching noise gates. Ill do some research on this bad boy. Is this considered the be-all-end-all of noise gates?
