Is any one planning to attend this thing? They are thoughtfully providing a headphone setup for each pedal board exhibited. I like the fact that they encourage you to bring your own instrument. Reservations are recommended.

Well I went to Googie's lounge. Hot, sweaty up there. You could not move around with your axe for fear of chopping off some ones scalp. Checked out the Pigtronix, Gig FX and Eventide displays. I get the feeling that they will learn from this one and do it better next time. Pigtronix guys had their whole lineup showcased. The standout for me was the Disnortion, I could have some fun with that one. Their compressor sounded pretty good too but I did not like it's distortion filter. They made me a little self conscious when I noticed the second Pigtronix guy put on headphones to eavesdrop on my noodlings. The Gig FX guys were also friendly but their headphone set up had some digitech guitar pedal doing some kind of (guitar) amp simulator but I still enjoyed the Sub Wha and would have loved to hear it through an amp. The Eventide "booth" was surprisingly the least fun for me but the guy had some serious demo chops playing the foot controller like a Stradivarius. The Moog guys were thankfully MIA as I find their pedals to be too large heavy for me to consider lugging them around. All the manufacturers were selling their pedals at special "show prices" which were usually $25.00 off the regular price. I did not partake of the $1.00 cans of Rolling Rock they were selling but gratefully had a big glass of ice water they thoughtfully provided. I should have gone to the other half of the exhibit at Ludlow guitars but I hadn't eaten and went off for a Po' Boy at Cheeky sandwiches. I thought it was cool that they invited me to bring my bass but in that cramped space there was little room for gig bags.
If they do have another one next year I'll probably check it out again.

I wouldn't be into the "crowd" scene, but otherwise, it sounds like pure fun.
