observation and thoughts on Zoom B2

Ok, I've had this thing for about a year and a half and it's been almost my everything aside from a Lazy Sprocket in front and a phrase sampler behind. A couple months ago I got a Compulator in an attempt to gradually upgrade from multi to singles. It sounded great by itself, but with the Zoom in the chain it was just a waste of space. If I turned the Zoom's master vol way down the compulator did something but still wouldn't get the nice sound it could by itself (especially through headphones). Now I've just gotten a Blueberry and it's a similar story. I've come to the conclusion that the AD/DA process in the Zoom is compressing my signal enough to effect these pedals. I don't notice this compression without the Blueberry in the mix to but it's plain as day with it on. Of course I'm talking about the zoom in "bypass." So, I'm thinking I need a bypass loop pedal to get that sweet OD all by itself. Has anyone else hed trouble getting their Zoom, or other digital pedal, to play nicely with (or get out of the way of) other pedals?
Yes, I've thought of replacing the Zoom completely with separate pedals but that's a lot of pedals ($$$) plus I like having a few effects around that I would probably never buy individually.
