Octamizer problems

I got a sweet deal on an Aguilar Octamizer from a fellow TBer, but when I went to go plug it into my chain, it started making these strange "pop" noises. I isolated the Octamizer from everything else in my chain just to make sure it wasn't one of my other pedals. The "pop" noises seem to be a result of the octave level knob's location. That is to say, when it is fully counter clockwise there is no noise (but also no octave) and is at its worse when the octave level is cranked all the way. I called up Aguilar and they suggested that it might be that the signal going into the pedal was too hot and that I should perhaps try again with the volume on my bass turned down somewhat. I tried this and got the same problem, just at a lower volume. My guess is that the circuit for that knob may have burned out. I originally thought it might be the potentiometer, but that would only cause an issue if the knob was being turned, and the noise I was getting was constant. Any ideas on how to get this pedal back up to speed?

No idea but when a pot went bad on my DB924 preamp I sent it to Aguilar and they repaired it.

Contact them again and they will take care of things.
