octamizer vs. oc2

Sign in to disble this ad
i checked out the octamizer yesterday over at aguilar....

it is pretty cool.

i'm going to bring my pedal board over there at some point and see how it works with other pedals.

i was using some nordy bass that felt compressed, so i couldn't tell if the pedal had no punch, or if the bass had no punch....

will report back.

that is all.

Thanks. I'm very interested in this comparison.
I think Bass Club Chicago has a few right now.

They currently have 3 left out of 6 that they received.

I never thought my OC-2 had any punch.

'tone is in the fingers' (somebody's gonna say it sometime i'm sure)

My Octamizer should be here tomorrow, and both of my basses pack a punch, so we'll see how it goes. One of the 3 Bass Club Chicago sold is the one I'm getting, by the by.

Punch is another one of those words that is greatly distorted and varying between different players and owners of basses.

The important question is: how is the tracking compared to the OC-2?

Before I came to talkbass, I though Boss was top shelf effects equiptment.

Top shelf/hand-made or not, if it sounds right, it is right (as Joe Meek used to say)

If they can't sound good with boss gear, no pedal will fix them.

There are Boss gems and duds, just like anything else. Don't hate.

Octamizer just showed up. I haven't plugged it in yet, but it already irritates me, due to this:

The back of the pedal has about a 1/4" lip on both sides, making pedalboard mounting annoying, at best. ***?

I love Talk Bass but it definitely made me into a gear snob and I say that as I stand in front of my amp so no one sees it...
